New NLRB Employee Rights Poster Delayed Until 2012
The posting of the NLRB’s Employee Rights poster which was to be required by November 14, 2011, has been postponed. That posting will require employers to notify their employees of their rights, under the National Labor Relations Act, to engage in such activities as organizing or seeking union representation.
As we previously informed readers, several lawsuits were filed seeking to block the notice requirement. As a result of a conference in one of those cases, the NLRB agreed that it will delay the effective date for its notice until January 31, 2012. As a result, employers are not required to display the NLRB poster until that date. We will continue to monitor this situation and will pass along further information upon its receipt.
